Corona pandemic: 70 million population vaccinated

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has achieved the target of vaccinating 70 million of its population during 2021.

“The goal of complete vaccination of 70 million people by the end of the year has been achieved,” Federal Minister Asad Umar announced on Friday, adding, amongst the Federating units Islamabad leads with 77 % fully vaccinated. Punjab is at 51 %, GB 46 %, AJK 45 %, Balochistan 42 %, KP 41%, and Sindh at 37 %. Of the total eligible population, 46 % is fully vaccinated and 63 % has received at least one dose.

According to Mr. Umar, the Federal Government has procured vaccines worth nearly Rs. 250 Billion. 100% of vaccine procurement done by the federal government, which has provided free vaccines to all citizens  regardless of which province they live in.

According to NCOC, so far 70,576,467 people have been fully vaccinated while 96,980,678 have received a single dose of corona vaccine.

Pakistan during the past 24 hours, reported six deaths and 515 coronavirus infections. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has registered 28,927 deaths and 1,295,376 infections. At least 1,256,337 people have been recovered from the disease.
