documentary film “Karakoram Highway: where Men and Mountains Meet" launched
ISLAMABAD: The premier of the film “Karakoram Highway: where Men and Mountains Meet” showcasing the sacrifices of Pakistani armed forces made during the construction KKH project was launched Monday in Arena Cinema at Bahria Town Islamabad.
KKH, with a gigantic 1300 kilometers length, is an emblem of Pak-China friendship, which is also called “Friendship Highway”. About 692 Pakistani and 108 Chinese lost their lives during the construction of the project.
The documentary film is based on some of the events recorded during that period while former Pakistani military officials who were part of the projects recount what they saw during the construction of the project.
According to Director General FWO Major General Kamal Azfar, the purpose of the is to tell people how KKH was built and how many difficulties and hardships were encountered during the construction of the project.
