Japanese Ambassador called on Chairman BOI
ISLAMABAD: The Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Mitsuhiro Wada called on Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Minister of State and Chairman Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan to discuss vistas of mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Mr. Ahsan apprised the ambassador on several initiatives taken by BOI to create a business friendly environment in the country especially with regards to reforms introduced by the country. The Japanese ambassador was also briefed on the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) portal, the incentives available to investors in SEZs and the one window operation being tailored for SEZs.
Mr. Wada was pleased to learn about BOI’s extensive facilitation mechanism and he said that Pakistan’s investment potential has attracted Japanese investors who are looking forward to investing in green energy, food, textile, and the auto sector of Pakistan.
He said that Japan is increasing its efforts to import human resources from the IT Sector of Pakistan. The ambassador further said that Pakistan as an investment destination should be marketed in Japan and for this purpose; he extended an invitation to Pakistan to participate in the Osaka Expo 2025.
Fareena Mazhar, Secretary BOI, was also present on this occasion.
