Pakistani among three killed in drone stike in Abu Dhabi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has confirmed the killing of its citizen among three people killed in a suspected drone strike by Yemen's Houthi rebels in Abdu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Monday.

“Abu Dhabi Police have also informed our Embassy in Abu Dhabi of the death of a Pakistani in the incident,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Pakistani Embassy is in close contact with the authorities of UAE to obtain more details in this regard, it added.

Earlier, a suspected drone strike triggered an explosion that hit three oil tankers in Abdu Dhabi while another fire swept through Abdu Dhabi International Airport. Three people including two Indians and a Pakistani were reportedly killed while six others were injured in the strikes.
