Soldier martyred in exchange of fire with terrorists: ISPR

A Pakistani soldier was martyred in exchange of fire with militants in North Waziristan tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the military's media wing stated on Saturday.  

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)’s statement, the terrorists fired at a military post in Shewa in North Waziristan. Army troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. During an intense exchange of fire, Naik Noor Merjan, 32, embraced Shahadat. He was from Kurram tribal district of KP. Clearance of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.
