University of Gujrat signed MOU with FJWU on academic research cooperation
RAWALPINDI: In a bid to promote the cause of higher education in the country, the University of Gujrat (UoG) and the Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Rawalpindi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by agreeing to establish a mechanism for academic and research cooperation.
UoG Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shabbar Atiq and FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Saima Hamid signed the agreement on behalf of their respective universities during a ceremony held at Rawalpindi.
Among others at the ceremony were Director ORIC-UoG Dr Audil Rashid and Dean Faculty of Law Comm. & Mgt & Admin Sciences FJWU Prof Dr Azra Yasmin.
Academic and research cooperation will be carried out through development of joint research proposals and other academic activities such as sharing of published data and research resources.
After signing the MoU, Prof Dr Shabbar Atiq and Dr Saima Hamid expressed their hope that the institutes would mutually benefit from the agreement, saying it would go a long way in promoting the cause of higher education in the country.
Unveiling further details of the activities of the MoU, Dr Audil Rashid and Dr Azra Yasmin said that the two varsities would be jointly organize different seminars, conferences and workshops, national and international courses, study tours, joint leadership and capacity building events, among others.
